Brief work history

Prior to joining UCT in 2007, Sharmilah lectured in nutrition at the Division of Dietetics, University of the Western Cape for a period of 7 years.  During this time she also lectured in Primary Health Care, Health Promotion and the Introduction to the Philosophy of Care and she served as a member of the curriculum development team for these courses. In 2005-2006 she supervised the community nutrition internship at the University of Cape Town on a part-time basis. She was also contracted as a nutrition consultant to the Department of Education, Western Cape Province, during the development of a new consumer science curriculum in 2006. Currently, Sharmilah is furthering her interest in Public Nutrition and is enrolled and completing her PhD.
